DKF Studio springs from a desire to give small churches, small businesses, and solopreneurs a beautiful web presence.
Donna K. Fitch began designing and maintaining webpages back in 1996, when she was head of reference and instruction at the University Library of Samford University. In 2000, she became the university’s first web designer and editor, in the office of marketing and communication. In her current position as digital communication specialist on the web and digital marketing team, Donna specializes in content management and quality control, search engine optimization, and Google AdWords.
A freelance WordPress designer since the mid-2000s, she also taught WordPress to adult learners in the evening program at Samford University for two years. DKF Studio grew out of Donna’s endeavors as founder and CEO of Maximum Author Impact, where she focused on helping authors market their books.

Outside of these activities, Donna has written two novels, a collection of short stories, a nonfiction book, and several roleplaying game supplements. She edited her late stepfather’s book on Pachelbel, published by Scarecrow Press. Donna loves learning: her degrees include a B.A. in art (printmaking specialty) from the University of Alabama in Huntsville; a master of library service (M.L.S.) from the University of Alabama; a master’s certificate in web design and development from the University of Denver; and starts a master’s in instructional design and technology in the fall of 2018. She is web editor for the Horror Writers Association newsletter, a past database maintainer, and a long-time member of that organization. Donna worships at Crosscreek Baptist Church, where she is a choir member and website editor. She lives in the greater Birmingham, Alabama, area with her husband Thomas and two rescue cats, Alice and Sophie.
